SUMMARY:
Ruddington Ordnance & Supply Depot, Nottinghamshire was commissioned by the Ministry of Defence in 1940 and decommissioned after The Second War in 1945. It was subsequently utilised as a site for the storage and sale of ex-military vehicles and equipment, a role it fulfilled until 1983.
Originally carrying the MoD Registration Number 44FK23, this Austin 1800 was purchased by the vendor direct from the MoD at Ruddington on 1st November 1977 though he has never used it on the road. The MoD Certificate of Transfer and Release Note is with the car.
Finished in potentially very smart black coachwork with a white pinstripe, the Austin 1800 is apparently very solid underneath. From what we can see the interior looks to be in excellent condition, though as it currently contains a quantity of spare seats and trim, it is hard to fully inspect it. We will endeavour to add further details and photographs before the end of the auction.
