Our aim is to set a new benchmark for quality online sales of classic cars in the UK.
Each week we select a number of quality classic cars, and list them for sale for seven days on the website. By writing the catalogue descriptions and in many cases taking the photos for each listing ourselves, we guarantee that the quality of information people have come to expect from physical Berlinetta auctions at The Manor will not only be carried over to these online sales, but in many cases enhanced.
That said, there is no substitute for visiting and inspecting the vehicle yourself. Each car’s location is recorded within its listing, and we encourage prospective buyers to arrange a visit direct with the sellers if possible at some point during the sale week.
To keep in touch with all our sales simply sign up to receive weekly consignment alerts delivered straight to your inbox.
If you decide to bid then registration couldn’t be simpler. Once that’s complete and you've engaged in battle you’ll receive alerts to tell you if you've been outbid, when the car reaches its reserve (if applicable) and when the lot is about to close.
If you’re not bidding you can still add any car to your ‘watch’ list if you want to receive an alert when that auction is about to close.
Registration also allows you to leave comments or ask any questions you might have via the comments section for each car. You can register to comment without registering to bid.
You will be able to bid on any car at any point over its sale period, in the same way as you would bid at any online auction using your desktop computer, phone, tablet or laptop. Our bespoke bidding module is totally secure and very easy to use. There’s no need to pre-register your credit or debit card details and no ‘holding fee’ or pre-authorisation of payments on your card.
We aim to make the bidding process as easy and clear as possible. More details on this can be found by clicking on ‘More about bidding’ directly below the bid box for each car, or via the link here.
If your bid is successful then you will initially be asked to pay just the 5% premium (plus VAT) on your final bid figure. This payment comes to us as our fee but is held in an independent ESCROW account until the main transaction has been successfully completed.
Payment can be made via bank transfer, debit or credit card, although unfortunately we have to pass on a 1.37% surcharge for the latter.
Once we have received this we will put you in touch with the seller direct. It’s then up to you both to conclude the actual purchase and collection of the car in the normal way, as you would do with a private sale.
After this deal has gone through we transfer the premium to our own bank account.
Sorry, we cannot accept cash payments.
